DCIM software stack · in development
Conventional DCIM,plus AI that sees the silicon.
Datafabrix is developing a DCIM software stack that handles the conventional jobs, including assets, power, cooling and capacity, and adds AI predictive analysis on telemetry from the DFX-G7 switch and the Smart Backplane.
Conceptual illustration
Six layers. One operational picture.
Facility data comes in the usual way. Silicon data comes from Datafabrix hardware. Both land in one model, so the AI layer can reason across them.

Everything DCIM does, plus what it never could.
| Area | Conventional DCIM | Datafabrix DCIM |
|---|---|---|
| Visibility depth | Facility, rack and PDU | Facility to server, backplane bay, PCIe port and device |
| Thermal | Room and rack-inlet temperatures, threshold alarms | Per-bay temperatures, hotspot forecasts with time-to-threshold |
| Faults | Alarm after a component fails | Risk score days ahead, from link errors, latency and sensor drift |
| Load | Power and space capacity planning | Fabric congestion prediction and thermally aware placement |
| Maintenance | Reactive or calendar-based | Predictive, condition-based work orders with evidence |
| Root cause | Separate tools per layer | One event correlated across facility, system and fabric |

AlarmsLive
From alarms to forecasts.
The AI layer consumes the on-switch risk scores and the raw features behind them, adds facility context, and produces ranked, explainable recommendations.

Thermal forecasting
Combines CRAH and inlet data with per-bay backplane temperatures to forecast hotspots and recommend cooling or placement changes.

Failure prediction
Ranks drives, links and boards by failure risk across the fleet, each with the signals that drove the score.

Maintenance planning
Turns risk into scheduled work orders: which bay, which part, which window, with workloads drained in advance.
The rack is not the bottom of the stack.
A hot aisle, a throttling GPU and a retraining link may be one event, not three. Select a level to see what Datafabrix DCIM tracks there.
