Edge sites have unstable power, dusty air, no on-site IT staff, and unreliable WAN. A "datacenter rack scaled down" fails on all four axes. This rack was designed for the actual conditions.

The most expensive part of an edge failure is the truck roll. On-board environmental sensing streaming to central DCIM lets you diagnose most problems remotely — and pre-empt the ones you cannot.

WAN is the single point of failure

One uplink is a liability. Dual-SIM cellular fallback plus optional satellite means your central console keeps seeing the site even when the primary link is dead.
